Drones Coding Camp

  • June 17th - June 21st 2019, Monday - Friday
  • For youth from 3rd grade to 8th grade
  • Half day- 9:00am to 1:00pm, $275.00 for a part-time session
  • Full day - 9:00 am to 5:00pm, $450 for more in-depth drone programming study
  • Located at University of Colorado Denver, College of Engineering

Course Description:

One day will focus on the science of flight and beginning drone flying skills. Continuing days will instruct students on basic JavaScript syntax to control autonomous drones, learn about VR drone racing, the difference between remote control and autonomous programming. In this class, students will get to learn basic JavaScript syntax that is used to build apps, code commands for, and control autonomous drones. Learners will work on computers and tablets to control drone devices, analyze flight requirements, code, test, debug, discuss swarm programming and culminate with a drone challenge field as they program their own amazing feats!

Wednesdays will include a campus tour excursion. Thursdays will include a CU Denver Engineering university student project presentation and exposure to University Engineering facilities.

Optional materials fee for Drone to take home = $70/student; Instructors will bring drones for in-class use.
