Game based learning line coding in Python and JavaScript (real-world coding languages). Students will work 1-1 on computers in a gamified world coding their character to react in real time to mazes, obstacles and risks in a knights and castle themed theme. Each command must be given in line code, with game leveling up stepping up the complexity. Course is designed with ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) and CSTA (Computer Science Teacher Association) standards, teaching real-world aspects of computer science skills.
Students are engaged, having fun and able to work at their own pace. Syllabus has unique content approved for upper elementary, middle and high school levels. Ongoing game hints appear automatically to guide and assist the student, while the instructor provides group-based understanding, discussion, collaboration, and individual support.
Python and JavaScript programmers are in demand today! Get your student started on real-world coding language skills.
Students will also work with coding Micro:bit game boards in a variety of languages, building their own game, downloading it to a pocket-sized circuit board that has built-in LEDs, accelerometer, and buttons. This circuit board can be disconnected from the computer and taken for remote play when powered with a battery pack.
